No. 939 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced by a great and enduring love, Doyal and Doris Humphries of Bloomfield, New Mexico, marked the milestone of their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2007; and WHEREAS, Mr. Humphries and the former Doris Kay Dilks were united in matrimony in 1957 at a ceremony held at First Baptist Church in Corum, Oklahoma; they have nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of three children, Pam Siluk, Paula Holden, and Sharon Ware, and five grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Former longtime residents of Rankin, Mr. and Mrs. Humphries moved to Bloomfield in 1979; Mr. Humphries retired from Halliburton after 35 years of service and went on to work part-time as the maintenance director for the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield; Mrs. Humphries, a devoted homemaker, was a beautician in Rankin; and WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Doyal and Doris Humphries on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Humphries as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
