| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Doyal and Doris Humphries of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Bloomfield, New Mexico, marked the milestone of their 50th wedding |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | anniversary on June 1, 2007; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Humphries and the former Doris Kay Dilks were |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | united in matrimony in 1957 at a ceremony held at First Baptist |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Church in Corum, Oklahoma; they have nurtured a close and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | addition of three children, Pam Siluk, Paula Holden, and Sharon |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Ware, and five grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Former longtime residents of Rankin, Mr. and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Mrs. Humphries moved to Bloomfield in 1979; Mr. Humphries retired |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | from Halliburton after 35 years of service and went on to work |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | part-time as the maintenance director for the First Baptist Church |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | in Bloomfield; Mrs. Humphries, a devoted homemaker, was a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | beautician in Rankin; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Doyal and Doris Humphries on their |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |

| 30 | 30 | | for continued happiness; and, be it further |
