| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, William Perry Anderson has been inducted into the |

| 6 | 6 | | Odessa Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, and this occasion provides |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | a fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed Texan; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born in Kermit on October 12, 1944, William Anderson |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | went on to graduate from Kermit High School in 1963 and from McMurry |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | University in 1967; answering his nation's call to duty, he joined |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the United States Air Force the following year, and he served |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | through 1972; after working as a purchasing agent and a sales |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | representative in Colorado, he returned to the Lone Star State in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1975 and entered the restaurant industry as an operations manager; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Anderson has owned and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | operated several Dairy Queen and Walter's restaurants in Kermit, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Monahans, Pecos, and Odessa; his businesses have been recognized |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | for some of the highest sales volumes among Dairy Queen restaurants |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | in Texas and for notable contributions to the Children's Miracle |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Network; Mr. Anderson has served as president of the Permian Basin |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Restaurant Association, and he was named Restaurateur of the Year |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | in 1996; active in the Texas Dairy Queen Operators Council, he |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | served as chairman of the Products and Services committee and as a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | member of the board from 1994 to 2003; moreover, he has volunteered |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | his time as a trustee for the CrossRoads Fellowship in Odessa; and |

| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community and his profession, |

| 28 | 28 | | William Anderson has garnered the lasting respect and admiration of |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | his fellow residents, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | his civic contributions; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate William Perry Anderson on his |

| 33 | 33 | | induction into the Odessa Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame and |

| 34 | 34 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and |
