H.R. No. 967
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love
and shared experiences, and Dudley and Zula Coleman of Ackerly
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on June 29,
2007; and
WHEREAS, Childhood friends, Mr. Coleman and the former Zula
Iris Shortes were joined in matrimony in 1947; through the years,
they have been blessed with children and grandchildren, including
Joanne and Mike Welling, Sharon and Michael Coleman, and Kim, Wes,
and Colten Hughes; and
WHEREAS, Valued residents of their community, the Colemans
are retired cattle ranchers and lifelong members of the First
United Methodist Church of Ackerly and Safari Club International;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Coleman have enjoyed six decades of
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dudley and Zula Coleman on their
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Coleman as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
