77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Subtitle A, Title 3, Occupations Code, is
99 amended by adding Chapter 114 to read as follows:
1010 CHAPTER 114. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE TO MULTIPLE HEALTH
1111 OCCUPATION REGULATORY AGENCIES
1212 Sec. 114.001. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter:
1313 (1) "Health care practitioner" means an individual
1414 issued a license, certificate, registration, title, permit, or
1515 other authorization to engage in a health care profession.
1616 (2) "Health occupation regulatory agency" means a
1717 department, commission, board, office, authority, or other agency
1818 of the state that regulates a health care practitioner under this
1919 title.
2020 Sec. 114.002. ANNUAL REPORT TO LEGISLATURE. (a) Not later
2121 than February 1 of each year, each health occupation regulatory
2222 agency shall file a report with the chairs of the house and senate
2323 committees with primary oversight over the agency that includes the
2424 following:
2525 (1) the number of persons regulated by the agency;
2626 (2) the number of persons who became subject to
2727 regulation by the agency in the previous year;
2828 (3) the number of persons regulated by the agency by
2929 county;
3030 (4) a description of any complaints reported to the
3131 agency or a description of the complaint categories used by the
3232 agency and the number of complaints in each category;
3333 (5) the number of complaints investigated by the
3434 agency and a description of the final resolution of the complaints;
3535 (6) the amount of fees collected by the agency each
3636 year;
3737 (7) the expenses of the agency; and
3838 (8) any unfunded needs of the agency.
3939 (b) The Health Professions Council shall adopt a standard
4040 format that must be used by health occupation regulatory agencies
4141 to report the information required under Subsection (a).
4242 SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2010, the Health
4343 Professions Council shall adopt the standard reporting format
4444 required under Subsection (b), Section 114.002, Occupations Code,
4545 as added by this Act.
4646 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
