8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 466, Government Code, is | |
10 | 10 | amended by adding Section 466.257 to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | Sec. 466.257. CLOSURE OF INSTANT LOTTERY GAMES. The | |
12 | 12 | commission may not initiate procedures to close an instant lottery | |
13 | 13 | game until at least 85 percent of all tickets for the game have been | |
14 | 14 | sold. | |
15 | 15 | SECTION 2. Section 466.257, Government Code, as added by | |
16 | 16 | this Act, applies to an instant lottery game for which tickets are | |
17 | 17 | offered for sale on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
