331 | 331 | | (d) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), the University of North |

332 | 332 | | Texas System may not issue bonds under this section for facilities |
---|
333 | 333 | | at the University of North Texas Dallas Campus until the Texas |
---|
334 | 334 | | Higher Education Coordinating Board certifies that enrollment at |
---|
335 | 335 | | the University of North Texas Dallas Campus has reached an |
---|
336 | 336 | | enrollment equivalent of 1,500 full-time students for one semester. |
---|
337 | 337 | | If that enrollment is not reached by January 1, 2010, the system's |
---|
338 | 338 | | authority to issue bonds for the University of North Texas Dallas |
---|
339 | 339 | | Campus under this section expires on that date. |
---|
340 | 340 | | Sec. 55.1776. TEXAS WOMAN'S UNIVERSITY. (a) In addition to |

341 | 341 | | the other authority granted by this subchapter, the board of |

342 | 342 | | regents of Texas Woman's University may acquire, purchase, |
---|

500 | 500 | | SECTION 2. Section 61.0572(e), Education Code, is amended |
---|

513 | 513 | | SECTION 3. Section 61.058(b), Education Code, is amended to |
---|

515 | 515 | | (b) This section does not apply to construction, repair, or |

516 | 516 | | rehabilitation financed by bonds issued under Section 55.17(e)(3) |
---|

519 | 519 | | except that the board shall review all construction, repair, or |
---|
520 | 520 | | rehabilitation to be financed by bonds issued under those sections |

521 | 521 | | to determine whether the construction, rehabilitation, or repair |
---|
522 | 522 | | meets the standards adopted by board rule for cost, efficiency, and |
---|
523 | 523 | | space use. If the construction, rehabilitation, or repair does not |
---|
524 | 524 | | meet those standards, the board shall notify the governor, the |
---|
525 | 525 | | lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, |
---|
526 | 526 | | and the Legislative Budget Board. |
---|
527 | 527 | | SECTION 4. This Act does not affect any authority or |
---|
528 | 528 | | restriction regarding the activities that a public institution of |
---|
529 | 529 | | higher education may conduct in connection with a facility financed |
---|
530 | 530 | | by bonds authorized by this Act. |
---|
531 | 531 | | SECTION 5. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
532 | 532 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
533 | 533 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
534 | 534 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
535 | 535 | | Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the |
---|
536 | 536 | | legislative session. |
---|
