| 6 | 6 | | drainage charge imposed by a municipal drainage utility system. |

| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 552.053, Local Government Code, as |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | effective April 1, 2009, is amended by adding Subsection (e) to read |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (e) Property owned by a school district located wholly or |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | partly in a municipality described by Section 552.044(8)(A) is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | exempt from drainage charges under Section 552.047 and all |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | ordinances, resolutions, and rules adopted under this subchapter. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
