| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 1057.106, Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Sec. 1057.106. LEASES. (a) The board may lease district |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | property, including facilities or equipment, to individuals, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | companies, corporations, or other legal entities on terms the board |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | determines further the district's purposes. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (b) The term of a lease under this section may not exceed 99 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | [25] years. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
