77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 571.032, Government Code, is amended to
99 read as follows:
1010 Sec. 571.032. MAILING OF NOTICES, DECISIONS, AND REPORTS.
1111 (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), each [Each] written
1212 notice, decision, and report required to be sent under this chapter
1313 shall be sent by registered or certified mail, restricted delivery,
1414 return receipt requested.
1515 (b) After written notice under Section 571.123(b) regarding
1616 the filing of a sworn complaint has been sent to a person in the
1717 manner required by Subsection (a), the commission may send the
1818 person any additional notices regarding the complaint by regular
1919 mail unless the person has notified the commission to send all
2020 notices regarding the complaint by registered or certified mail,
2121 restricted delivery, return receipt requested.
2222 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2323 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2424 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2525 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2626 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
