| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 130.197, Education Code, is amended to | |
| 10 | 10 | read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Sec. 130.197. SAN JACINTO COLLEGE DISTRICT SERVICE AREA. | |
| 12 | 12 | The service area of the San Jacinto College District includes the | |
| 13 | 13 | territory within: | |
| 14 | 14 | (1) the Pasadena, Pearland, La Porte, Deer Park, | |
| 15 | 15 | Channelview, Galena Park, and Sheldon independent school | |
| 16 | 16 | districts; and | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) the part of the Clear Creek Independent School | |
| 18 | 18 | District that is located in Harris County. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies | |
| 20 | 20 | beginning with the 2009 fall semester. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 22 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 23 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 25 | 25 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
