| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 29.915, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 10 | 10 | amending Subsection (d) and adding Subsection (f) to read as | |
| 11 | 11 | follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (d) The agency shall develop an application and selection | |
| 13 | 13 | process for selecting school districts to participate in the | |
| 14 | 14 | program. The agency may select not more than 100 [25] school | |
| 15 | 15 | districts to participate in the program. | |
| 16 | 16 | (f) Not later than January 1, 2011, the agency shall provide | |
| 17 | 17 | each member of the legislature with a report relating to the | |
| 18 | 18 | implementation and effectiveness of the program. This subsection | |
| 19 | 19 | expires February 1, 2011. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
