55 AN ACT
66 relating to the expansion of the financial literacy pilot program
77 in public schools.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 29.915, Education Code, is amended by
1010 amending Subsection (d) and adding Subsection (f) to read as
1111 follows:
1212 (d) The agency shall develop an application and selection
1313 process for selecting school districts to participate in the
1414 program. The agency may select not more than 100 [25] school
1515 districts to participate in the program.
1616 (f) Not later than January 1, 2011, the agency shall provide
1717 each member of the legislature with a report relating to the
1818 implementation and effectiveness of the program. This subsection
1919 expires February 1, 2011.
2020 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2121 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2222 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2323 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2424 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
