| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Sections 121.2015(c) and (d), Utilities Code, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | are amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (c) If the operator or operator's representative cannot |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | arrange a meeting in person after complying with Subsection (b), |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the operator or the operator's representative may [shall make an |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | effort to] conduct community liaison activities by [means of a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | telephone conference call with the officials by] one of the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | following methods: |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (1) holding [mailing a written request for] a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | telephone conference with [to] the appropriate officials [by |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | certified mail, return receipt requested]; or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) delivering [sending a request for a telephone |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | conference to the appropriate officials by facsimile transmission; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | or |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | [(3) making one or more telephone calls or e-mail |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | message transmissions to the appropriate officials to request a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | telephone conference. |

| 27 | 27 | | [(d) If the operator or the operator's representative has |

| 28 | 28 | | made the efforts required by Subsections (b) and (c) but has not |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | successfully arranged a meeting in person or a telephone |
