O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:SB2191 by Lucio (Relating to certain billing practices by businesses in this state.), As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend statute and prohibit a business from charging an extra fee for providing a paper receipt, unless the purchase is conducted through the internet. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) anticipates that implementation of the bill could result in new complaints investigations or cases by the OAGs Consumer Protection and Public Health Division. However, it is anticipated that this increase could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
