| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 24.120, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amending Subsections (b) and (c) and adding Subsection (b-1) to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (b) The 19th, 54th, 74th, [and] 170th, and 414th district |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | courts have concurrent jurisdiction in McLennan County. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (b-1) The 19th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | by general law for district courts. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (c) The terms of the 19th District Court begin on the first |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | [second] Mondays in January, March, May, July, September, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | November. |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. Section 24.156, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |

| 24 | 24 | | (a-1) The 54th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed |

| 27 | 27 | | by general law for district courts. |

| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 3. Section 24.176, Government Code, is amended by |

| 29 | 29 | | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |

| 30 | 30 | | (a-1) The 74th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed |

| 33 | 33 | | by general law for district courts. |

| 34 | 34 | | SECTION 4. Section 24.265, Government Code, is amended by |

| 35 | 35 | | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |

| 36 | 36 | | (a-1) The 170th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction |

| 37 | 37 | | with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed |

| 39 | 39 | | by general law for district courts. |

| 40 | 40 | | SECTION 5. Section 24.558, Government Code, is amended to |

| 41 | 41 | | read as follows: |

| 42 | 42 | | Sec. 24.558. 414TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (MCLENNAN COUNTY). |

| 43 | 43 | | (a) The 414th Judicial District is composed of McLennan County. |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | (b) The 414th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | by general law for district courts. |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | (c) The terms of the 414th District Court begin on the first |
|---|
| 49 | 49 | | Mondays in January, March, May, July, September, and November. |
|---|
| 50 | 50 | | (d) Section 24.120, relating to the 19th District Court, |
|---|
| 51 | 51 | | contains provisions applicable to both that court and the 414th |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | District Court. |
|---|
| 53 | 53 | | SECTION 6. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
