77 relating to the jurisdiction and operation of the district courts
88 in McLennan County.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 24.120, Government Code, is amended by
1111 amending Subsections (b) and (c) and adding Subsection (b-1) to
1212 read as follows:
1313 (b) The 19th, 54th, 74th, [and] 170th, and 414th district
1414 courts have concurrent jurisdiction in McLennan County.
1515 (b-1) The 19th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction
1616 with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan
1717 County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed
1818 by general law for district courts.
1919 (c) The terms of the 19th District Court begin on the first
2020 [second] Mondays in January, March, May, July, September, and
2121 November.
2222 SECTION 2. Section 24.156, Government Code, is amended by
2323 adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
2424 (a-1) The 54th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction
2525 with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan
2626 County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed
2727 by general law for district courts.
2828 SECTION 3. Section 24.176, Government Code, is amended by
2929 adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
3030 (a-1) The 74th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction
3131 with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan
3232 County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed
3333 by general law for district courts.
3434 SECTION 4. Section 24.265, Government Code, is amended by
3535 adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
3636 (a-1) The 170th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction
3737 with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan
3838 County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed
3939 by general law for district courts.
4040 SECTION 5. Section 24.558, Government Code, is amended to
4141 read as follows:
4242 Sec. 24.558. 414TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (MCLENNAN COUNTY).
4343 (a) The 414th Judicial District is composed of McLennan County.
4444 (b) The 414th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction
4545 with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan
4646 County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed
4747 by general law for district courts.
4848 (c) The terms of the 414th District Court begin on the first
4949 Mondays in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
5050 (d) Section 24.120, relating to the 19th District Court,
5151 contains provisions applicable to both that court and the 414th
5252 District Court.
5353 SECTION 6. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
