A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to allowing multiple methods of voting at the same polling
place.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 123.005(a), Election Code, is amended
to read as follows:
(a) Only [Except as otherwise provided by this code, only]
one kind of voting system may be used at a polling place in an
election, except:
(1) that the authority adopting the voting system may
provide for the use of direct recording electronic voting machines
to cast a vote in addition to another method of casting a vote at the
same polling place; or
(2) as otherwise provided by this code.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
