8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 659.305, Government Code, is amended by | |
10 | 10 | amending Subsection (h) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (h) The amount of hazardous duty pay for a particular month | |
12 | 12 | for a full-time employee [correctional officer] employed by the | |
13 | 13 | Texas Department of Criminal Justice is the lesser of: | |
14 | 14 | (1) $12 for each 12-month period of lifetime service | |
15 | 15 | credit accrued by the employee; or | |
16 | 16 | (2) $300. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
