55 relating to eligibility for funds from the water infrastructure
66 fund from the Texas Water Development Board.
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Subdivision (1), Section 15.971, Water Code, is
99 amended to read as follows:
1010 (1) "Eligible political subdivision" means a city,
1111 county, district, or authority created under Section 52, Article
1212 III, or Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, including a
1313 groundwater district with a groundwater management plan certified
1414 by the board under Section 36.1072, any other political subdivision
1515 of the state, any interstate compact commission to which the state
1616 is a party, and any nonprofit water supply corporation created and
1717 operating under Chapter 67[:
1818 [(A) a municipality;
1919 [(B) a county;
2020 [(C) a river authority or special law district
2121 that is listed in Section 9.010(b);
2222 [(D) a water improvement district;
2323 [(E) an irrigation district;
2424 [(F) a water control and improvement district;
2525 and
2626 [(G) a groundwater district with a groundwater
2727 management plan certified by the board under Section 36.1072].
2828 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
