55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to a prevailing wage survey conducted under an interlocal
88 agreement between two or more political subdivisions of the state.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 2258.022, Government Code, is amended by
1111 adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
1212 (f) Notwithstanding any other law, two or more political
1313 subdivisions that are located in one county may enter into an
1414 interlocal agreement for the purpose of conducting a prevailing
1515 wage survey under this chapter provided that the wage survey is
1616 conducted at least every three years. A survey authorized by this
1717 subsection may be used to set the rate to be paid to workers
1818 required by Section 2258.021 for work performed in any political
1919 subdivision that is a party to the interlocal agreement.
2020 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2121 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2222 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2323 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2424 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
