55 relating to preferences of certain district courts in Tarrant

77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 24.118, Government Code, is amended by
99 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1010 (d) The 17th District Court shall give preference to civil
1111 matters.
1212 SECTION 2. Section 24.150, Government Code, is amended by
1313 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1414 (d) The 48th District Court shall give preference to civil
1515 matters.
1616 SECTION 3. Section 24.169, Government Code, is amended by
1717 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1818 (d) The 67th District Court shall give preference to civil
1919 matters.
2020 SECTION 4. Section 24.198, Government Code, is amended by
2121 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
2222 (c) The 96th District Court shall give preference to civil
2323 matters.
2424 SECTION 5. Section 24.252, Government Code, is amended by
2525 adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
2626 (e) The 153rd District Court shall give preference to civil
2727 matters.
2828 SECTION 6. Section 24.352, Government Code, is amended to
2929 read as follows:
3030 Sec. 24.352. 141ST JUDICIAL DISTRICT (TARRANT COUNTY).
3131 (a) The 141st Judicial District is composed of Tarrant County.
3232 (b) The 141st District Court shall give preference to civil
3333 matters.
3434 SECTION 7. Section 24.413, Government Code, is amended to
3535 read as follows:
3636 Sec. 24.413. 236TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (TARRANT COUNTY).
3737 (a) The 236th Judicial District is composed of Tarrant County.
3838 (b) The 236th District Court shall give preference to civil
3939 matters.
4040 SECTION 8. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
4141 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
4242 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
4343 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
4444 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
