8	8	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
9	9	SECTION 1. Section 660.004, Government Code, is amended by
10	10	adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
11	11	(c) Funds appropriated for the John Ben Shepperd Public
12	12	Leadership Institute of The University of Texas of the Permian
13	13	Basin may be used to pay for costs associated with the institute's
14	14	educational programs for public secondary and university-level
15	15	students, including registration fees, ground or air
16	16	transportation, lodging, meals, training costs, and related
17	17	expenses.
18	18	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
