8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 301.0015, Labor Code, is amended by | |
10 | 10 | adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (e) Notwithstanding Subsections (a) through (d) or any | |
12 | 12 | other law, including case law, a member of the commission may take a | |
13 | 13 | position on issues regulated by, or affecting the operation of, the | |
14 | 14 | commission. A member of the commission may present the member's | |
15 | 15 | opinion or give advice regarding such an issue to a legislative | |
16 | 16 | committee or a member of the legislature. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
18 | 18 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
19 | 19 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
21 | 21 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
