5	5	relating to the designation of a segment of Interstate Highway 30 in
6	6	Hunt County as the Martin Luther King, Jr., Freeway.
7	7	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8	8	SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,
9	9	is amended by adding Section 225.079 to read as follows:
10	10	Sec. 225.079. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., FREEWAY IN HUNT
11	11	COUNTY. (a) The part of Interstate Highway 30 in the corporate
12	12	limits of the city of Greenville is designated as the Martin Luther
13	13	King, Jr., Freeway.
14	14	(b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall
15	15	design and construct memorial markers indicating the freeway
16	16	number, the designation as the Martin Luther King, Jr., Freeway,
17	17	and any other appropriate information. The department shall erect
18	18	a marker at each end of the freeway and at appropriate intermediate
19	19	sites along the freeway.
20	20	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
