| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 22, Government Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 22.1095 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 22.1095. RULES ON ELECTRONIC FILING OF DOCUMENTS FOR | |
| 13 | 13 | CAPITAL CASES IN COURT OF CRIMINAL APPEALS. (a) Notwithstanding | |
| 14 | 14 | Subchapter I, Chapter 51, or any other law, the court of criminal | |
| 15 | 15 | appeals may adopt rules and procedures providing for and governing | |
| 16 | 16 | the electronic filing of briefs, pleadings, and other documents for | |
| 17 | 17 | capital cases in that court. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b) In the adoption of rules and procedures under Subsection | |
| 19 | 19 | (a), the court of criminal appeals shall coordinate with the | |
| 20 | 20 | supreme court and the rules and procedures adopted by that court. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
