77 relating to the electronic filing of documents for capital cases in
88 the court of criminal appeals.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 22, Government Code, is
1111 amended by adding Section 22.1095 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 22.1095. RULES ON ELECTRONIC FILING OF DOCUMENTS FOR
1313 CAPITAL CASES IN COURT OF CRIMINAL APPEALS. (a) Notwithstanding
1414 Subchapter I, Chapter 51, or any other law, the court of criminal
1515 appeals may adopt rules and procedures providing for and governing
1616 the electronic filing of briefs, pleadings, and other documents for
1717 capital cases in that court.
1818 (b) In the adoption of rules and procedures under Subsection
1919 (a), the court of criminal appeals shall coordinate with the
2020 supreme court and the rules and procedures adopted by that court.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
