88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 111.96, Education Code, is amended to
1010 read as follows:
1111 Sec. 111.96. ESTABLISHMENT: SCOPE. (a) The board of
1212 regents shall maintain [establish] an [upper-level] educational
1313 institution in the City of Victoria to be known as the University of
1414 Houston-Victoria.
1515 (b) The institution shall [be organized to] offer
1616 undergraduate [only junior, senior,] and graduate level programs.
1717 [(c) The institution may enroll a student who has
1818 successfully completed at least 30 semester credit hours of course
1919 work at a public or private institution of higher education and who
2020 is concurrently enrolled in another public or private institution
2121 of higher education.]
2222 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2323 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2424 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2525 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2626 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
