8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 74.097, Government Code, is amended to |
---|
10 | 10 | | read as follows: |

11 | 11 | | Sec. 74.097. LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT JUDGE FOR |
---|
12 | 12 | | BLANCO, BURNET, LLANO, AND SAN SABA COUNTIES. Notwithstanding |
---|
13 | 13 | | Section 74.091(b), the local administrative district judge for |
---|
14 | 14 | | Blanco, Burnet, Llano, and San Saba Counties is selected on the |
---|
15 | 15 | | basis of rotation [seniority] from the district judges of the 33rd |
---|
16 | 16 | | Judicial District and the 424th Judicial District. |
---|
17 | 17 | | SECTION 2. The judges of the district courts in Blanco, |
---|
18 | 18 | | Burnet, Llano, and San Saba Counties shall select a local |
---|
19 | 19 | | administrative district judge for those counties as required by |
---|
20 | 20 | | Section 74.097, Government Code, as amended by this Act, to begin |
---|
21 | 21 | | the initial rotation for service as the local administrative |
---|
22 | 22 | | district judge on the effective date of this Act. |
---|
23 | 23 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
24 | 24 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
25 | 25 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
26 | 26 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
27 | 27 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
