66 relating to the selection of the local administrative district
77 judge for Blanco, Burnet, Llano, and San Saba Counties.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 74.097, Government Code, is amended to
1010 read as follows:
1111 Sec. 74.097. LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT JUDGE FOR
1212 BLANCO, BURNET, LLANO, AND SAN SABA COUNTIES. Notwithstanding
1313 Section 74.091(b), the local administrative district judge for
1414 Blanco, Burnet, Llano, and San Saba Counties is selected on the
1515 basis of rotation [seniority] from the district judges of the 33rd
1616 Judicial District and the 424th Judicial District.
1717 SECTION 2. The judges of the district courts in Blanco,
1818 Burnet, Llano, and San Saba Counties shall select a local
1919 administrative district judge for those counties as required by
2020 Section 74.097, Government Code, as amended by this Act, to begin
2121 the initial rotation for service as the local administrative
2222 district judge on the effective date of this Act.
2323 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2424 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2525 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2626 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2727 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
