8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 7.111, Education Code, is amended by | |
10 | 10 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (c) If the national entity that develops and delivers high | |
12 | 12 | school equivalency examinations authorizes online testing, the | |
13 | 13 | board by rule shall provide for administration of the examinations | |
14 | 14 | online. The rules must provide a procedure for verifying the | |
15 | 15 | identity of the person taking the examination. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2009-2010 | |
17 | 17 | school year. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
19 | 19 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
20 | 20 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
21 | 21 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
22 | 22 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
