66 AN ACT
77 relating to the authority of the attorney general to seek an
88 injunction against certain employment practices involving
99 children.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 51.034, Labor Code, is amended to read as
1212 follows:
1313 Sec. 51.034. INJUNCTION: ATTORNEY GENERAL'S ACTION. (a)
1414 In this section, "sexually oriented business" has the meaning
1515 assigned by Section 243.002, Local Government Code.
1616 (b) The attorney general may seek injunctive relief in
1717 district court against an employer other than a sexually oriented
1818 business who repeatedly violates the requirements established by
1919 this chapter relating to the employment of children.
2020 (c) The attorney general may seek injunctive relief in
2121 district court against a sexually oriented business on a first or
2222 subsequent violation by the business of the requirements
2323 established by this chapter relating to the employment of children.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
