| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 531, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Sections 531.0091, 531.0092, and 531.0093 to read |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Sec. 531.0091. TRAINING FOR HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | AGENCY EMPLOYEES. (a) Not later than the 30th day after the date |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | an employee of a health and human services agency begins employment |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | with the agency, the employee shall complete human |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | resources-required training relating to the agency's policies and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | procedures and the employee's job responsibilities. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (b) Not later than the 30th day after the date an employee of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a health and human services agency assumes new job |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | responsibilities, the employee shall complete any human |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | resources-required training relating to the agency's policies and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | procedures and the employee's job responsibilities. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Sec. 531.0092. EXIT INTERVIEWS FOR HEALTH AND HUMAN |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SERVICES AGENCY EMPLOYEES. Each health and human services agency |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | shall make a reasonable effort to inform an employee who |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | voluntarily terminates employment with the agency that the agency |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | is required to conduct an exit interview under Section 651.007. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Sec. 531.0093. NOTICE OF TERMINATION OF HEALTH AND HUMAN |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | SERVICES AGENCY EMPLOYEE. Not later than the fifth business day |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | after the date an employee of a health and human services agency |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | terminates employment with the agency, the employee's supervisor |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | shall report the employee's termination to the payroll director of |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | the agency or that person's designee. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
