O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:SB923 by Harris (Relating to notice of proposed increases in fees charged by the Parks and Wildlife Department for certain permits.), As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to require the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) provide written notice to persons holding certain TPWD-issued permits of proposed permit fee increases that are at least three times higher than the current fee at least 90 days before any permit fee increases go into effect. According to TPWD, any additional mailing costs associated with notifying permit holders under circumstances defined in the bill could be absorbed within the department's current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
