| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Isabel and |

| 3 | 3 | | Hermenegildo Cisneros placed great faith and trust in one |

| 4 | 4 | | another, and they have been amply rewarded, as they recently |

| 5 | 5 | | celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Isabel "Chabela" Torres de Cisneros and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Hermenegildo "Mere" Cisneros Chapa were married in Matamoros on |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | April 25, 1959, in the first marriage officiated by a bishop in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the cathedral; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | years of their marriage, yet they have continued to cherish |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | traditional family values; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | sorrows of everyday living; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Chabela and Mere have been blessed with a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | wonderful family; their children, Beatriz Eugenia Ebel and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Carlos Hermenegildo Cisneros, and their five grandchildren, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Eric, Gaby, Carlitos, Alejandro, and Anna Lynda, have been a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | source of much pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The long and happy union of this distinguished |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | couple is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Isabel |

| 25 | 25 | | Torres de Cisneros and Hermenegildo Cisneros Chapa on their 50th |

| 26 | 26 | | wedding anniversary; and, be it further |
