| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Migrant Clinicians Network on the auspicious |

| 4 | 4 | | occasion of its 25th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Migrant Clinicians Network is a national, |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | nonprofit organization devoted to helping health care providers |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and communities strengthen and improve medical services and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | infrastructure for migrants and other mobile poor populations; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | it traces its roots to a 1984 meeting of clinicians concerned |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | about the lack of migrant-specific resources available to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | medical professionals; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Training and technical assistance provided by the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Migrant Clinicians Network provides many of the elements needed |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | to improve care and to increase knowledge about and foster |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | creative solutions to the problems facing this underserved |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | population; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This dedicated organization offers many resources |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | to professionals, including clinical courses providing |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | continuing education hours, in-depth consultations, and an |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | award-winning website that has provided webcasts and other |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | clinical program resources; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The Migrant Clinicians Network relies on an array |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of collaborative relationships to provide the highest quality |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | services; it is truly deserving of recognition for its commitment |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to advancing better health care for vulnerable populations; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Migrant Clinicians Network on |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | its exceptional work in helping migrants and the mobile poor |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | receive quality health care and extend to its members best wishes |

| 31 | 31 | | for a memorable and rewarding 25th anniversary; and, be it |
