| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Judge Henry G. Schuble, who died |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | December 21, 2008, at the age of 76; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A longtime judge who spent 31 years on the bench |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | and was known for his love of the law, his keen insight, and his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | skill as a mediator, Judge Schuble was born August 19, 1932; a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1950 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, he earned a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | bachelor's degree and a law degree from Baylor University, and he |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | served in the United States Army as a security investigator in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the 39th Battalion; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Judge Schuble began his legal career as a city |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | attorney in Houston; he then served as an associate probate judge |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and spent 18 years in private practice; in 1977, he was appointed |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | by Governor Dolph Briscoe to the newly created 245th Judicial |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | District Court of Harris County, a position he held with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | distinction for nearly two decades; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Following his retirement from the district court, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Judge Schuble remained very active as a visiting judge and a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | successful mediator; he was voted Best Qualified Assigned Judge |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | by the Nueces County Bar Association in 2002; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, An avid dove and quail hunter and outdoorsman, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Judge Schuble gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | family of Judge Henry G. Schuble; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
