| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, When they married on June 5, 1959, J. C. and Pearl |

| 3 | 3 | | Swafford made a lifetime commitment to each other, and their |

| 4 | 4 | | mutual trust has been amply rewarded, for they are now |

| 5 | 5 | | celebrating their golden wedding anniversary; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the |

| 7 | 7 | | years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Swafford have cherished |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | traditional family and moral values; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their |

| 10 | 10 | | love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | sorrows of everyday living; and |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Swafford have been blessed with a |

| 13 | 13 | | wonderful family; their children, Rhonda Solley, Mike Swafford, |

| 14 | 14 | | and Carla Merka, have been the source of much pride and joy, and |

| 15 | 15 | | their seven grandchildren hold a special place in their hearts; and |

| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Swafford are sharing their happiness |

| 17 | 17 | | with family and friends at an anniversary celebration hosted by |

| 18 | 18 | | their children on June 6, 2009, at Mount Sylvia Missionary |

| 19 | 19 | | Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Swafford |

| 21 | 21 | | is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. J. C. |
