| 4 | 4 | | allies for their outstanding efforts on behalf of Houston's |

|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Comprised of 2,000 member companies, the Greater |

| 7 | 7 | | Houston Partnership serves as the primary advocate for Houston's |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | business community; with members including small and mid-size |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | companies as well as Fortune 500 companies, this exemplary |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | organization promotes the growth of high-paying jobs, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | international trade, and capital investments in the 10-county |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Houston region; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Under the outstanding leadership of the |

| 14 | 14 | | partnership's president, Jeff Moseley, and its chair, Dan |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Bellow, the Greater Houston Partnership has played an important |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | role in the area's economy; in July of 2008, the Houston |

| 17 | 17 | | metropolitan area was rated the number one place in the country |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | to live, work, and play by Kiplinger's Personal Finance; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through hard work and dedication, the partnership |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and its members have helped to create regional economic |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | prosperity and have helped Texas to remain a leader in job |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | creation and commerce; this outstanding organization is truly |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | deserving of recognition for its commitment to making the Houston |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | region a driving force in our state's economy; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Greater Houston Partnership and |

| 27 | 27 | | its regional allies on their exceptional contributions to the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Houston business community; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
