| 6 | 6 | | Legislature, Regular Session, 2009, That Senate Rule 12.03 be |

| 7 | 7 | | suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the |

| 8 | 8 | | conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on |

| 9 | 9 | | House Bill No. 2682 (the authority of municipalities to alter |

| 10 | 10 | | speed limits) to consider and take action on the following |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | matter: |

| 12 | 12 | | Senate Rule 12.03(1), is suspended to permit the committee |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | to change text not in disagreement in SECTION 1 of the bill, in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Subsections (b-1) and (b-2), Section 545.356, Transportation |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Code, to read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (b-1) The [Except as provided by Subsection (b-2), the] |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | governing body of a municipality, for a highway or a part of a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | highway in [an urban district in] the municipality that is not an |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | officially designated or marked highway or road of the state |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | highway system, [is 35 feet or less in width, and along which |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | vehicular parking is not prohibited on one or both sides of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | highway,] may declare a lower speed limit of not less than 25 |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | miles per hour, if the governing body determines that the prima |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | facie speed limit on the highway is unreasonable or unsafe. |

| 25 | 25 | | (b-2) Subsection (b-1) applies only [does not apply] to a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | two-lane, undivided highway or part of a highway [that has four |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | or more lanes used for vehicular travel]. |
