1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1117
2	2	WHEREAS, It is with great pride that the Texas Senate
3	3	honors one of its most loyal and beloved staff members, Dianne
4	4	Arrington, by naming her the 2009 administrative recipient of the
5	5	Betty King Public Service Award; and
6	6	WHEREAS, During her long tenure as a legislative employee
7	7	and officer of the Texas Senate, Dianne has always exemplified
8	8	the best in Senate tradition, and she has earned the enduring
9	9	admiration and affection of the legislators and her Capitol
10	10	colleagues; and
11	11	WHEREAS, As Senate Journal Clerk, Dianne has deftly
12	12	handled the many responsibilities entailed in publishing the
13	13	Senate Journal, and she has a long-established reputation for
14	14	carrying out her duties with enthusiasm, dedication, and
15	15	proficiency; and
16	16	WHEREAS, Since becoming Journal Clerk in 1991, Dianne has
17	17	been in charge of the accurate accounting of the Senate's daily
18	18	proceedings and the documentation of bills, and she is known for
19	19	having faced difficult deadlines and long hours with remarkable
20	20	composure and perseverance; and
21	21	WHEREAS, As head of the Journal Department, Dianne has
22	22	distinguished herself as a strong team leader who is known as
23	23	much for her convivial personality as for her superior
24	24	organizational skills and professional strengths; and
25	25	WHEREAS, Dianne is a much-cherished and highly respected
26	26	Senate staff member whose presence in the Capitol will be
27	27	greatly missed upon her retirement, and she is most deserving
28	28	of her selection for the prestigious Betty King Public Service
29	29	Award; now, therefore, be it
30	30	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
31	31	Legislature, hereby commend Dianne Arrington on her invaluable
32	32	service to the Texas Senate and extend congratulations to her on
33	33	earning a 2009 Betty King Public Service Award; and, be it
34	34	further
35	35	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
36	36	tribute to Dianne Arrington.
