1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1119
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is extremely
3	3	proud to honor the employees of the Central Staff offices for
4	4	their excellent work during the 81st Legislative Session; and
5	5	WHEREAS, The hallmark of the Central Staff is its deep
6	6	loyalty to the Senate; Central Staff employees have consistently
7	7	distinguished themselves through their knowledge, their
8	8	professionalism, their dedication to public service, and, above
9	9	all, their extraordinary teamwork; and
10	10	WHEREAS, The different departments work together around
11	11	the clock to get the job done, be it the publication of the daily
12	12	Senate Journal, the marathon proofing sessions of bills and
13	13	resolutions, the overnight production of bills and bill
14	14	analyses, or the printing of conference committee reports to meet
15	15	end-of-session deadlines; and
16	16	WHEREAS, The staffers always rise to the occasion,
17	17	skillfully executing mentally and sometimes physically demanding
18	18	tasks in a way that looks effortless from the outside; both the
19	19	longtime employees, who provide their invaluable institutional
20	20	knowledge, and the new staffers, interns, and temporary
21	21	employees, who bring their enthusiasm and different viewpoints,
22	22	maintain a high regard for one another while working together
23	23	toward a common purpose; and
24	24	WHEREAS, Despite the unforgiving deadlines of the
25	25	legislative session, the staffers undertake their duties with
26	26	pride and attention to detail; many staffers are required to be
27	27	present on the floor whenever the Senate is in session, no matter
28	28	how long that may be; after the Senate adjourns each day, the work
29	29	of the staff continues, and late nights often last into the early
30	30	morning of the following day; and
31	31	WHEREAS, Through the long hours they work during a session,
32	32	staffers maintain their high spirits; the many people who work
33	33	quietly behind the scenes to enable the Senate to carry out its
34	34	constitutional duties include those in the Office of the
35	35	Secretary of the Senate, the Auditor's Office, the Calendar
36	36	Clerk's Office, the Engrossing and Enrolling Department, the
37	37	Human Resources Department, the Senate Journal Office, the Media
38	38	Services Department, the Payroll Department, the Post Office,
39	39	the Publications and Printing Office, the Purchasing and Supply
40	40	Department, the Senate Research Center, the Sergeant-at-Arms
41	41	Office, the Staff Services Office, and the Support Services
42	42	Office; and
43	43	WHEREAS, Though often the workloads seem impossible, the
44	44	Central Staff of the Texas Senate always rises to the challenge,
45	45	exceeds expectations, and achieves excellent results; now,
46	46	therefore, be it
47	47	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
48	48	Legislature, hereby commend the Central Staff of the Texas Senate
49	49	for their outstanding service to the Senate and the State of
50	50	Texas and extend a sincere thank you to all the members of the
51	51	staff for their hard work and dedication.
