| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |

| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Betty Louise Hughes, who died January 3, |

| 7 | 7 | | 2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 71; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Betty Hughes was born November 13, 1937; she was |

| 9 | 9 | | retired from her career with Morgan Stanley Discover Card in New |

| 10 | 10 | | Albany, Ohio; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, Betty was respected for her |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | many accomplishments; she was a woman of integrity, strength, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | generosity who gave unselfishly to others; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Betty Hughes was beloved by many, and she leaves |

| 15 | 15 | | behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | family of Betty Louise Hughes: her daughters and son-in-law, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Sylretha Smith and her husband, Chester, Syvera Smith, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Darlene Reece; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Morgan and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | her husband, Thomas; and her numerous grandchildren and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | great-grandchildren; and, be it further |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 25 | 25 | | the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy |
