| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in |

| 3 | 3 | | recognizing the participants in the TALL XI class of the Texas |

| 4 | 4 | | Agricultural Lifetime Leadership program; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | program is part of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service and is |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | now in its 22nd year of operation; the program is designed for men |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and women who are in the early stages of their leadership |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | careers, and applicants must be residents of Texas and actively |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | involved in farming, ranching, or a business closely related to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | agriculture; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Candidates for the program are reviewed for |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | leadership integrity and effectiveness, analytical and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | communicative skills, potential for growth, and vocational |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | commitment; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The goals of the program are to identify and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | support emerging leaders, to heighten their knowledge of current |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | issues, and to increase their personal involvement in state and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | local activities that contribute to the growth of Texas |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | agriculture; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The TALL XI class consists of 24 leaders in |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | agriculture ranging from 25 to 50 years in age; during a two-year |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | span, these participants will tour throughout the State of Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and visit Mexico, Washington, D.C., New York, Russia, and Poland; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the class will attend its third session in Austin to learn |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | firsthand about state government and agricultural representation |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and its effects; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, The members of the TALL XI class are devoting |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | their time and energy to discovering how to solve the complex |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | issues facing the agriculture industry today, and they deserve |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | recognition for their dedication and hard work; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the members of the TALL XI class |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | on their selection as participants in this esteemed program and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | the TALL XI class as an expression of esteem from the Texas |
