SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 155 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Patricia "Cherie" Camacho, who has been honored with the 2008 District Award of Merit by the Tip O Tex District, Boy Scouts of America; and WHEREAS, A volunteer with the district for several years, Cherie has served as both a unit commissioner and an assistant district commissioner; she has volunteered with the day camp and with the Pinewood Derby, Cub Adventure Weekend, and Cub Scout Round-Up; and WHEREAS, She has served as a Tiger Cub Leader, Den Leader, and Webelos Den Leader for Pack 59, and her sons, Travis and Jordan, are currently in the pack; her son Ronald achieved Eagle Scout rank in Troop 59, where Cherie was a Scoutmaster, assistant Scoutmaster, and member of the troop committee; and WHEREAS, Her volunteer efforts for the Rio Grande Council include serving as chairman of Scoutorama, as a staff member of Camp Perry Summer Camp, and as a volunteer and counselor with the Council Camporee; and WHEREAS, A dedicated volunteer, Cherie Camacho has contributed significantly to the success of the Boy Scouts of America organization in its efforts to help boys and young adults develop leadership abilities and learn good citizenship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Patricia Camacho for her outstanding service on behalf of the Boy Scouts of America and extend to her congratulations on earning the 2008 District Award of Merit; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
