| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | citizens of Spring in mourning the loss of Rodney Dale Waters, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | who died January 31, 2009, at the age of 43; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born July 6, 1965, in Pasadena, Texas, Rodney |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | became a career firefighter who served his community with courage |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and dedication; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Early in his career, he served as a volunteer with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the Spring Fire Department; he was employed as a firefighter with |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the Conroe Fire Department prior to joining the Houston Fire |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Department in 1989; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Rodney was an exemplary gentleman who gave |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | unselfishly of his time and energy to others; he was a member of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the HLSR Committee and was a Special Olympics fundraiser, a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Little League coach, and a member of Spring Masonic Lodge AF & AM; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Waters was highly respected and admired in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | his community, and he leaves behind memories that will be |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | treasured forever by his family and his many friends; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | family of Rodney Dale Waters: his wife, Dawn; his daughter, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Hannah Marie Waters; his sons, Jacob Dwayne Waters and Garrett |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Ryan Lorenz; and his sisters, Rhonda Waters and Pamela Lawson; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and, be it further |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
