1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 162
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
3	3	recognizing the Arlington High School Colt Chorale, which has
4	4	been selected to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association
5	5	Clinic and Convention in San Antonio; and
6	6	WHEREAS, One of 13 choirs chosen from a field of 95 to
7	7	perform this month at the convention, the Arlington High School
8	8	Colt Chorale is the only Tarrant County choir to participate in
9	9	the event; and
10	10	WHEREAS, The 88-member chorale is a select portion of the
11	11	school's 384 choral students; its members are hardworking and
12	12	dedicated to the highest of standards, and they spend up to 10
13	13	hours in practice outside of school each week; and
14	14	WHEREAS, The group is fortunate to work under the
15	15	exceptional leadership of choir director Dinah Menger; the
16	16	members of the Colt Chorale will be among about 25,000 people,
17	17	including educators, performers, parents, and musical
18	18	professionals, to take part in the convention; now, therefore, be it
19	19	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
20	20	Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Arlington High
21	21	School Colt Chorale on their dedication and talent and
22	22	congratulate them on earning a place at the Texas Music Educators
23	23	Association Clinic and Convention; and, be it further
24	24	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
25	25	the Colt Chorale as an expression of esteem from the Texas
26	26	Senate.
