SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 163 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Jr., on the grand occasion of his 50th birthday; and WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson was born February 17, 1959, in Beaumont; at the age of 10, he moved with his family to Fort Worth, where he was a 1976 graduate of O. D. Wyatt High School; and WHEREAS, He attended college in Georgia and Indiana, and he earned a bachelor's degree in theological studies in 1988; he is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree through Andersonville Theological Seminary; and WHEREAS, Pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Reverend Jackson has devoted his time and energy unselfishly to the members of his church and his community; and WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson is an accomplished scholar and theologian, and he has continued the legacy of his father, Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Sr., with his emphasis on strong biblical teaching, preaching, and pastoral leadership; and WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson has played a leadership role in many ministerial organizations, including the Baptist Minister's Union, the Original Harmony Baptist District Association, and the Progressive Baptist State Convention of Texas; he is truly deserving of recognition as he reaches this milestone in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Jr., for a happy and memorable 50th birthday; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
