| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, the Honorable |

| 3 | 3 | | Ruben Hope and Francine Hope placed great faith and trust in one |

| 4 | 4 | | another, and they have been amply rewarded, as they are |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Ruben W. Hope, Jr., and Francine Gordon were |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | married on March 28, 1959; the world has changed considerably |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | during the years of their marriage, yet they have continued to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | cherish traditional family values; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | love and affection as together they have experienced the joys and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | sorrows of everyday living; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, They have many treasured memories of their shared |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | experiences, from living and working in Austin and attending The |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | University of Texas to starting a family, making a home together, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and going on memorable vacations; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hope opened a private law practice and later |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | served the citizens of Texas as a member of the Texas House of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Representatives; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hope have been blessed with a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | wonderful family; their children, Ruben III, Gregg, and Alison, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and their grandchildren, Danielle, Ruben, Blythe, Stuart, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Connor, and Holden have been a source of much pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Hope is |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Ruben and |

| 28 | 28 | | Francine Hope on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary; |
