SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 178 In Memory of Ofelia L. Grenier WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of El Paso in mourning the loss of Ofelia L. Grenier, who died January 16, 2009, at the age of 73; and WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen of El Paso since 1970, Mrs. Grenier was respected in the community for her many accomplishments; she enriched all who knew her with her warmth and grace; and WHEREAS, Ofelia Grenier was a woman of courage, strength, and compassion; she gave generously to others, and her wisdom and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and WHEREAS, A devoted mother and grandmother, she will long be remembered with affection and admiration by all who were privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Ofelia L. Grenier: her mother, Angelina Licon; her sons and daughters-in-law, Maurice and Pilar Grenier and Richard and Marisa Grenier; her daughter, Lise M. Rocha; her sisters, Alicia, Marta, Gloria, Alma, and Hortensia; her brothers, Rafael, Pedro, and Luis; and her grandchildren, Nicole, Jos Mauricio, Andr, Crysta, Richard, Maurice, and Denise; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ofelia L. Grenier.
