1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 195
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize Dr. Gilberto de los Santos, who was recently named
4	4	professor emeritus by The University of Texas--Pan American; and
5	5	WHEREAS, Dr. de los Santos served The University of
6	6	Texas--Pan American for 31 years as dean of students and as a
7	7	professor of marketing; he is remembered by many students as
8	8	their best instructor; and
9	9	WHEREAS, A prolific writer, Dr. de los Santos has authored
10	10	and co-authored more than 100 publications; he has also
11	11	contributed marketing and economic consulting services to many
12	12	local, regional, and national corporations; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Dr. de los Santos remains active in numerous
14	14	projects, including working with Texas Border Business, a
15	15	monthly publication serving the Rio Grande Valley; he is truly
16	16	deserving of recognition for his many accomplishments and his
17	17	contributions to the region; now, therefore, be it
18	18	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
19	19	Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Gilberto de los Santos on his
20	20	many contributions to academic excellence at The University of
21	21	Texas--Pan American and extend congratulations to him on being
22	22	awarded the title of professor emeritus; and, be it further
23	23	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
24	24	him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
