| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join representatives of Tarrant County and of the Coalition of |

| 4 | 4 | | Tarrant County Chambers of Commerce in celebrating Tarrant |

| 5 | 5 | | County Days at the State Capitol on February 25 and 26, 2009; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Since its creation in 1849, Tarrant County has |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | grown from a frontier community to a modern county providing a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | wide array of opportunities for its residents, a vibrant business |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | economy, outstanding educational institutions, world-renowned |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | medical facilities, and diverse entertainment and cultural |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | facilities; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The new home of the Dallas Cowboys, Tarrant County |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | draws countless tourists each year for its exceptional sources of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | entertainment, such as Six Flags Over Texas and the Fort Worth |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Zoo, and for its outstanding museums, such as the Kimbell Art |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Museum and the Amon G. Carter Museum, both of which are located in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the county seat of Fort Worth; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Tarrant County's central location, major highway |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and rail corridors, and exceptional air transportation |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | facilities are accommodating to business interests that range |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | from cattle and agriculture to such corporate giants as American |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Airlines and Radio Shack; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The county owes much of its economic stability and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | diversity to the leadership provided by the Coalition of Tarrant |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | County Chambers of Commerce; the coalition brings together |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | chambers of commerce from throughout the county to support public |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | policy initiatives that meet the needs of all county citizens and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | that provide for positive growth; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, The celebration of Tarrant County Days at the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | State Capitol is an excellent opportunity for the legislature to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | pay tribute to the unique history and qualities of Tarrant County |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and the many contributions its citizens have made to the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | development of Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the representatives of |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Tarrant County and of the Coalition of Tarrant County Chambers of |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Commerce on the occasion of Tarrant County Days at the State |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
