SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 245 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate takes great pride in recognizing the members of Leadership Keller from Keller, Texas, on the occasion of their visit to Austin February 19 and 20, 2009; and WHEREAS, Leadership Keller brings together a small group of area professionals for an intensive eight-month study of the various aspects of the Keller community; and WHEREAS, The goals of Leadership Keller include providing a unique educational experience for those who participate in the program and helping them to develop their leadership skills; the program also aims to motivate emerging leaders and help them to acquire a working knowledge of the community; and WHEREAS, Participants take backstage and behind-the-scenes tours of local schools, hospitals, community service agencies, city offices, entertainment venues, and police and fire departments to learn about the different sectors of the community; and WHEREAS, The program also includes meetings with local officials and political leaders and a trip to Austin, where participants meet with elected leaders, state personnel, and agency department heads; and WHEREAS, Through the Leadership Keller program, participants learn about the inner workings of private and public institutions and how they might contribute to the betterment of their community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Leadership Keller for its innovative and thorough approach to preparing citizens for prominent roles in their community; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Leadership Keller as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
