| 4 | 4 | | West African nations of Liberia and Sierra Leone as they visit |

| 5 | 5 | | the State Capitol on a study mission; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Organized by the Institute for Representative |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Government in cooperation with the National Democratic |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Institute, this important study mission brings this impressive |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | delegation to our state to investigate procedures and systems |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | relating to the oversight of extractive industries and to discuss |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | strategies for reducing poverty; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The members of the delegation from Liberia are |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Senator Franklin Siakor, Representative Gabriel Smith, and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Representative Victoria Lynch; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The members of the delegation from Sierra Leone |

| 16 | 16 | | are Deputy Majority Leader Sheku B. B. Dumbuya, the Honorable |

| 17 | 17 | | Emma Kowa, and the Honorable Shiaka Musa Sama; and |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, These distinguished legislators represent a |

| 19 | 19 | | diverse range of political parties and movements within their |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | respective nations; their commitment to the principles and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | practices of good governance is justly deserving of respect and |

| 22 | 22 | | recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the legislative delegation from |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Liberia and Sierra Leone on their dedication to improving the |

| 26 | 26 | | legislative processes in their nations and extend to them a |
